Stone Shape Guide

The shape is the outline of the stone seen from above, and it changes how a ring looks more than almost anything else. These are the ten shapes we carry; each link opens our engagement rings in that shape.

Round

The classic brilliant cut, with the most sparkle of any shape. It suits every setting style. Shop round engagement rings

Oval

A stretched round. It looks larger for its carat weight and makes the finger look longer. Shop oval engagement rings

Pear

A teardrop, rounded at one end and pointed at the other. Traditionally worn with the point towards the fingertip. Shop pear engagement rings

Princess

A square with sharp corners and crisp, modern sparkle. Prongs on the corners protect the points. Shop princess engagement rings

Cushion

A square or rectangle with softly rounded corners, like a pillow. It has a gentle, vintage feel. Shop cushion engagement rings

Emerald

A rectangle cut in long steps rather than small facets. It shows broad flashes of light and a clean, glassy look. Shop emerald engagement rings

Marquise

A long boat shape with a point at each end. It gives the most finger coverage for its size. Shop marquise engagement rings

Radiant

A rectangle or square with trimmed corners and brilliant facets: the outline of an emerald cut with the sparkle of a round. Shop radiant engagement rings

Asscher

A square step cut with cropped corners and an Art Deco look. Shop asscher engagement rings

Heart

The romantic choice. The shape reads most clearly in larger stones. Shop heart engagement rings

Our moissanite also comes as loose stones: see loose moissanite. Stone details on each listing are as stated by our supplier.
